(January 26, 1941 - December 26, 2011)
Tommy Wayne Moon 70, of China Spring, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior Monday December 26, 2011. Services will be 2 PM Friday December 30, at Frieden’s Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Riesel, Texas with the Reverend Barney Federwisch and Reverend Paul Sabov officiating. Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery in Riesel. Visitation with his family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Drive .
Tommy was born January 26, 1941 in Waco to Jess and Emma Moon. Tommy married the love of his life, Peggy F. Federwisch on Nov. 22 1962 in Riesel. He worked for several years at William Cameron. In 1966 he went to work for Lehigh Portland Cement Co. and retired in 2003 after 37 years of service.
Tommy enjoyed wildlife, golf, traveling, and an occasional trip to the casino in Oklahoma. He was a big fan of Baylor Bears, working as an usher at the Baylor athletic events. He was a loving husband, father, grand-father and brother, and was a member of Friedens UCC in Riesel. He will be greatly missed.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Peggy Ruth and Dorothy Page; brothers Jimmy Earl, Billy and Joe Moon.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Peggy; son Terry D. Moon and wife Marla of Deanville; sisters Barbara Butler and Carolyn (Susie) Woodward of Waco; brothers, Jesse Moon and wife Blanche, Johnny Moon and wife Barbara of Waco, and James Moon of Plano; sister-in- law Carmen Moon of Irving; brother-in-law Rick Federwisch and wife Shun-Dale of Brenham and Ed Page of Waco; grandson Mason Moon of Deanville; step-grandchildren Lindsey Franklin of Burton and Gavia and Kristin Gaskamp of Brenham; step-great-grandchildren, Peyton and Avery Franklin of Burton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Memorials may be made to Friedens Evangelical and Reformed UCC Riesel Church.
